1.03 SIGNS, SIGNALS, AND DEVICES
A. Traffic Cones and Drums, Flares and Lights: As approved by local jurisdictions.
B. Flagman Equipment: As approved by local jurisdictions.
C. Install traffic control devices in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for streets and highways, U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, 1988 Edition. Contractor shall develop a traffic control plan to be reviewed by the Engineer. The traffic control plan shall be coordinated with the Metropolitan Department of Public Works and be acceptable to them.
1.04 CONSTRUCTION PARKING CONTROL
A. Control vehicular parking to prevent interference with public traffic and parking, access by emergency vehicles, and Owner's operations.
B. Monitor parking of construction personnel's vehicles. Maintain vehicular access to and through parking areas.
C. Prevent parking on or adjacent to access roads or in non- designated areas.
1.05 FLAGMEN
A. Provide trained and equipped flagmen to regulate traffic when construction operations or traffic encroach on public traffic lanes.
1.06 LIGHTS
A. Use lights during hours of low visibility to delineate traffic lanes and to guide traffic.
1.07 HAUL ROUTES
A. Consult and abide with authority having jurisdiction in establishing public thoroughfares to be used for haul routes and site access.
1.08 TRAFFIC SIGNS AND SIGNALS
A. At approaches to site and on site, install at crossroads, detours, parking areas, and elsewhere as needed to direct construction and affected public traffic.
B. Install and operate traffic control signals to direct and maintain orderly flow of traffic in areas under Contractor's control, and areas affected by Contractor's operations.
C. Relocate as Work progresses, to maintain effective traffic control.
D. Contractor's vehicles and mobile equipment shall adhere to a speed limit of 10 miles/hr. in the project site. This speed limit shall be posted throughout project site.
1.09 REMOVAL
A. Remove equipment and devices when no longer required.
B. Repair damage caused by installation.
C. Remove post settings to a depth of 2 feet.
