General Construction Specifications

   PART 1 - GENERAL

    01 SECTION INCLUDES

    A. Access doors for installation of doors in concrete decks.

    02 QUALITY ASSURANCE

    A. For the purpose of designating the minimum aesthetic, functional and quality standards for the work of this section, proprietary products are specified.

    03 SUBMITTAL

    A. Submit the following submittal in accordance with Section 01340.

    B. Manufacturer's Product Data: Clearly indicating general construction, thickness of metal, type and thickness of coating.

    04 DELIVERY, HANDLING, STORAGE

    A. Products shall be delivered to job-site in original unopened packages bearing manufacturer's labels.

    1. Comply with Section 01610.

    B. Store and protect products in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and Section 01620.

    05 WARRANTY

    A. Provide manufacturers warranty for defects in material or workmanship for a period of 5 years.

   PART 2 - PRODUCTS

    06 SINGLE LEAF

    A. Type: Bilco's Type J aluminum floor access door.

    1. Size: As shown on the Drawings.

    2. Frames: 1/4" aluminum channel.

    3. Door Panel: 1/4" diamond pattern aluminum plate, reinforced as required to withstand a live load of 300 psf.

    4. Hardware: Stainless steel; hinges, compression spring operations, automatic hold open device, and snap lock with removable handle.

    5. Finish: Mill finish aluminum, with bituminous coating ont he underside of the frame.

    6. Provide vinyl draft seals at perimeter of hatch.

    2.02 DOUBLE LEAF

    A. Type: Bilco's Type JD aluminum floor access door.

    1. Size: As shown on the Drawings.

    2. Frames: 1/4" aluminum channel.

    3. Door Panel: 1/4" diamond pattern aluminum plate, reinforced as required to withstand a live load of 300 psf.

    2.03 ACCESS DOOR FOR H-20 WHEEL LOADING

    A. Provide access door as noted above designed for H-20 wheel loading where noted on the Drawings.

   PART 3 - EXECUTION

    07 GENERAL

    A. Install access doors plumb, level, rigidly secured in place and in accordance with manufacturer's published recommendations.

    B. Install fire-rated access doors in accordance with UL requirements, as applicable to fire-rated access doors.
