PART 1 - GENERAL
01 WORK INCLUDED
A. Installation of plumbing fixtures, connections and equipment as listed in this section of the specifications.
02 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Fixtures: By same manufacturer for each product specified.
B. Trim: By same manufacturer for each product specified.
C. Fixtures, connections to equipment, materials and installation shall comply with federal, state and local code requirements, including ANSI Guidelines.
03 SUBMITTALS
A. Refer to Specifications Section 15308: Plumbing General Provisions for specified requirements.
B. Include fixtures, warranties, sizes, utility sizes, trim, and finishes.
04 NON-SPECIFIED/LISTED PRODUCT OR MATERIAL SUBSTITUTIONS
A. Refer to Specifications Section 15308: Plumbing General Provisions, and Section 15309: Plumbing Product or Material Substitution Request Form.
B. If a manufacturer or Contractor wishes a non-specified/listed product or material to be considered and listed as an equivalent product or material, the above listed specifications sections shall be correctly followed, and submitted, or the proposed substitution shall be denied.
05 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE DATA
A. Submit operation and maintenance data under provisions of Specifications Section 15308: Plumbing General Provisions.
B. Include fixture trim exploded view and replacement parts lists.
06 WARRANTY
A. Provide a one (1) year warranty from time of final acceptance and release to Owner, and as required under provisions of Specifications Section 15308: Plumbing General Provisions.

P-4 EMERGENCY DRENCH SHOWER/EYE-WASH COMBINATION UNIT (EXPOSED, INDUSTRIAL INSTALLATIONS)
A. Western emergency equipment number W9231, exposed industrial installation combination type emergency drench shower/eye-wash with number WP828SS, stainless steel shower head and stainless steel eye-wash basin with twin spray heads.
B. One (1) McGuire number 8088, 1-1/4 inch semi-cast brass ground joint swivel P-trap with cleanout plug.
C. One (1) McGuire number 1127, 1-1/4 inch by 6 inches chrome plated brass nipple with cast setscrew escutcheon.
D. Furnish and install a 1-1/4 inch in-line ball cutoff valve in 1-1/4 inch service line at connection point.
E. Install emergency drench shower/eye-wash combination unit to rigid condition.
P-5 AUTOMATIC TRAP PRIMER (FLOOR DRAIN CONNECTION)
A. Precision Plumbing Products, Inc. number P-1 and/or P-2, sized as required for the number of floor drains served. Refer to Contract Drawings for exact requirements.
B. Unit(s) shall include trap primer valve and required distribution unit.
C. Install to absolutely rigid condition.
P-6 COLD WATER SERVICE FAUCET
A. One (1) Chicago Faucet number 965-NCP-86109, water service nozzle faucet with brace, concealed straight valve with indexed "C" handle and an elevated vacuum breaker.
B. Mounting height of valve and nozzle shall be 36 inches centerline to finished floor.
C. Mounting height of vacuum breaker shall be 7 foot, 6 inches centerline to finished floor.
P-7 WATER HAMMER ARRESTOR (SHOCK ABSORBER)
A. Jay R. Smith number 5005 thru 5050, sized, installed and located as suggested by manufacturer, and as shown on the Contract Drawings.
B. Installation of water hammer arrestors (shock absorbers) shall conform with Federal, State, and local code requirements. Provide wall access panel at each installation if code required.
C. Refer to other sections of this specification for specified access panel requirements.
P-8 WALL HYDRANT (NON-FREEZE)
A. Jay R. Smith number 5609-QT, "Quarterhorse", all bronze non-freeze wall hydrant, with satin nickel plated head, hose connection, integral vacuum breaker and stainless steel box.
B. Mounting height of 18 inches from hydrant centerline to finished exterior grade.
P-9 GROUND POST HYDRANT (NON-FREEZE)
A. Jay R. Smith number 5910, ground post hydrant, with vacuum breaker.
B. Furnish and install depth of bury as required to be below local frost line.
C. Furnish and install 24 inches by 24 inches by 8 inches deep, concrete base if hydrant is not shown installed in concrete slab.
P-10 FLOOR DRAIN (GENERAL)
A. Jay R. Smith number 2005-A-B-PB, (and suffix "P", if required -refer to Contract Drawings) cast iron floor drain with sediment bucket, adjustable strainer, flashing clamp device, and nickel bronze top.
B. Furnish and install required deep seal P-trap.
C. Refer to Contract Drawings for drain size.
P-11 FLOOR DRAIN (HEAVY DUTY GRATE)
A. Jay R. Smith number 2005-A-B-PB, (and suffix "P", if required -refer to Contract Drawings) cast iron floor drain with sediment bucket, adjustable strainer, flashing clamp device, and heavy-duty grate.
B. Furnish and install required deep seal P-trap.
C. Refer to Contract Drawings for drain size.
P-12 FLOOR DRAIN (EQUIPMENT ROOMS, FULL GRATE)
A. Jay R. Smith number 2233-Y-PB (and suffix "P", if required -refer to Contract Drawings) cast iron floor drain with sediment bucket with lift bar, collar, and polished bronze top.
B. Furnish and install clamp device if drain is installed in floor above slab on grade.
C. Furnish and install required deep seal P-trap.
D. Refer to Contract Drawings for drain size.
P-13 FIRE EXTINGUISHER (10 LB. ABC, WALL HUNG)
A. Potter-Roemer number 3010, 10 pound ABC multi-purpose dry chemical, wall hung fire extinguisher with U.L. rating of 4A:60B:C.
B. Furnish complete with wall mounting bracket.
C. Refer to detail on Contract Drawings.
P-14 FIRE EXTINGUISHER (10 LB. CO2, WALL HUNG)
A. Potter-Roemer number 3410, 10 pound carbon dioxide, wall hung fire extinguisher with U.L. rating of 10B:C.
B. Furnish complete with wall mounting bracket.
C. Refer to detail on Contract Drawings.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
010 INSPECTION
A. Review casework/millwork shop drawings. Confirm location and size of lavatories and sinks and openings before cutting of countertop and installation of lavatory or sink.
B. Verify adjacent construction is ready to receive rough-in work of this Section.
C. After completion of installation of fire extinguishers, employ a state and local, certified and licensed fire suppression contractor to inspect, certify, tag and date each fire extinguisher.
011 INSTALLATION
A. Install each fixture with trap, easily removable for servicing and cleaning.
B. Install fixtures, equipment, and components level and plumb.
C. Install and secure fixtures in place with fire pressure treated wall supports and/or wall or floor mounted carriers and bolts as specified.
D. Furnish and install 4-inch water closet wax seal rings and 4-inch water closet bends as required for water closet installations. 3-inch wax seals and water closet bends are not acceptable.
E. Fixtures shown on Architectural Drawings shall be furnished and installed under this division, whether or not shown on the Plumbing Contract Drawings, or listed under Specifications Section 15441: Plumbing Fixtures, Part 2-Products.
F. Fixtures shall be mounted to walls and floors to an absolutely rigid condition.
G. Furnish and install a Sloan-Royal number F-72-A1, trap primer connection on water closet flush valves, serving floor drains in toilet room spaces. Refer to Contract Drawings for required locations.
H. Furnish and install required length tailpiece on sink and lavatory P-traps, so exposed tubing shall be chrome plated.
I. Install lavatories and sinks with a minimum of 4 inches clearance on each side, from a wall, partition, or another fixture. Water closets shall be installed with a minimum of 15 inches clearance from centerline of the bowl, to each side, from a wall, partition, divider, or another fixture. Water closets shall have a minimum of 21 inches clearance in front of bowl. Coordinate dimensions required with Architect.
J. Furnish and install General Electric white silicon sanitary sealant, or equivalent, caulking at joints on fixtures mounted on walls or floors, or fixtures backed up to walls.
K. Furnish and install tailpiece inlet fittings on sinks or lavatories with condensate drain or equipment drain connections as shown or noted on drawings. Tailpiece inlet fittings shall be chrome plated and be installed on entering side of P-trap, and shall be required size.
L. Fixture installation shall include miscellaneous trim considered standard practice, or necessary for installation of fixtures, whether or not they are specifically named in the specifications, or shown on the Plumbing Contract Drawings.
M. Exposed domestic water piping outside wall(s) or casework shall be polished, chrome plated.
N. Connect to plumbing fixtures and equipment provided under this and other sections of the specifications, architectural drawings, and/or manufacturers' approved shop drawings. Provide rough-in connections where called for or required.
O. Follow schedule and details on plans, and/or manufacturers' approved shop drawings for connection sizes to fixtures.
P. Contractor shall furnish and install outlet devices which limit the flow of hot water to lavatories and sinks to a minimum of 0.5 GPM, sized as recommended by the manufacturer and as required under ASHRAE Standard 90-75, paragraph 7.7.2 and/or federal, state, and local energy codes and requirements.
012 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING
A. Refer to Specifications Section 15308: Plumbing General Provisions for specified requirements.
B. Adjust stops and/or valves for intended water flow rate to plumbing fixtures and equipment without splashing, noise, or overflow of water from fixture.
C. At installation completion, clean and polish plumbing fixtures and equipment.
