    01 WORK INCLUDED

    A. Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and services for boilers as specified herein, sized in accordance with mechanical plans and as located on the plans.

    B. Completely coordinate with work of all other trades.

    C. Where such work is not specifically indicated, furnish and install all supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and devices incidental to or necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation.

    D. Boiler shall be guaranteed to operate at an efficiency of at least 80% over the operating range.

    E. Boiler shall be guaranteed to operate down to 105oF without sustaining condensation.

    02 QUALITY ASSURANCE

    A. Standard for Manufacture: ASME Code for Boilers and Pressure Vessels, Section IV, Heating Boilers and state and local boiler codes.

    03 SUBMITTALS

    A. Submit product data to Architect for approval as required by Section 15010.

   PART 2 - PRODUCTS

    04 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS

    A. Provide equipment as manufactured by Raypak, Inc, Lochinvar, Teledyne-Lars.

    05 FABRICATION

    A. Assembly of finned copper tube heat exchanger within combustion chamber conforming to ANSI/ASME SEC4 *and SEC8D* requirements, and tested for maximum working pressure of 160 psi.

    B. Line combustion chamber with interlocking refractory insulating panels of vermiculite, high temperature cements, asbestos fiber and refractory clay.

    C. Fabricate exchanger of finned copper tubing with baffles and sealed into bronze or cast iron headers with silicone O-ring gaskets.

    D. Finish with galvanized steel jacket with factory applied baked enamel, insulated with foil faced fiberglass insulation.

    E. Heat exchanger shall be cleanable from either side, and from one side without removal of external piping.

    06 FUEL BURNING SYSTEM

    A. Atmospheric Gas Burner: Stainless steel burners for natural gas with adjustable combustion air supply, gas pressure regulator, diaphragm gas valves, manual shut-off, intermittent spark or glow coil ignition, thermistor flame sensing device, and automatic 100 percent safety gas shut-off. Provide burner with the following type of control:

    1. On-off

    2. High-low

    3. Full modulating

    B. Provide gas burner safety controls to energize ignition, limit time for establishment of flame, prevent opening of gas valve until pilot flame is proven, stop gas flow on ignition failure, energize blower motor, and after air flow proven and slight delay, allow gas valve to open.

    C. Provide flue gas collector and draft hood.

    D. Provide wire brush for cleaning fire side surfaces.

    2.02 TRIM

    A. ASME rated pressure relief valve set at 60 psi.

    B. Low water cut-off with manual reset and inlet flow switch to automatically prevent burner operation when water falls below safe level or on low flow through boiler.

    C. Operating temperature controller with outdoor reset to control burner operation to maintain supply water temperature.

    D. Electronic operating temperature controller with full cover for wall mounting, ambient temperature range -30 to 150 degrees F, adjustable reset ration of outside air temperature change to discharge control point change 1:2 to 100:1, integral set point adjustment 80 to 230 degrees F, electronic primary and outdoor sensors, for on-off switching of pilot duty single throw double relays.

    E. High limit temperature controller with automatic reset for burner to prevent boiler water temperature from exceeding safe system temperature.

    2.03 CONTROLS

    A. Provide pre-wired, factory assembled electric controls enclosed in cabinet to NEMA 250 requirements. Controls shall include pilot safety and thermocouple transformer, 24-volt gas valve, manual main and pilot valves, and junction box.

   PART 3 - EXECUTION

    07 INSTALLATION

    A. Install boilers in accordance with NFPA, ASME, local codes, and manufacturer's instructions, and Factory Mutual requirements.

    B. Boilers and accessories shall be installed and piped per manufacturer's recommendations and under his supervision. Drain valves on boiler shell shall be piped to the nearest drain, full size of the connection. Relief valves and vents shall be piped to outside the building using either the connection size or the size shown on the drawings, whichever is the larger. Ells on relief lines turning up through the roof shall be drip pan ells. Pipe gas vent connections on gas controls to outside of the building.

    C. Boilers shall receive factory start-up supervision tests to check construction, operation, and function of controls and to insure proper preparation for use. See Sections 3.03 - 3.07 following.

    08 DUTIES OF SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

    A. Boiler and burner manufacturer's factory trained service representative(s) to instruct personnel designated by Owner in operation and maintenance of equipment.

Rembco Geotechnical Contractors specializes in slope stabilization, foundation repair and support, shoring, grouting, soil nails, micropile installations, and sinkholes. We are experienced in these applications: micro piles, sinkhole repair, permeation grouting, pressure grouting, soil nails, chemical grouting, micropiles, compaction grout, rock anchors and compaction piles. Our specialties are rock anchor, chemical and compaction grouting, mini piles, sinkhole repair, micropiles, and soil nailing. We use a problem-solving approach in the geotechnical portions of buildings, bridges, water plants, sewage plants, tunnels, sinkholes, caisson, and roads. Rembco techniques apply when adding new real estate structures: especially rock anchor, microfine grouting, soil nailing, micropile installations for foundation support.
