B. NEMA PB 1 - Panelboards.
C. NEMA PB 1.1 - Instructions for Safe Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Panelboards Rated 600 Volts or Less.
1.02 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit shop drawings for equipment and component devices under provisions of applicable Sections of Division 1.
B. Include outline and support point dimensions, voltage, main bus ampacity, integrated short circuit ampere rating, overcurrent protective devices arrangement and sizes, mounting type, NEMA enclosure type, bus material, number and size of lugs per phase, ground bus, feed through or sub-fed lugs and main breaker ampacity.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
03 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURES - PANELBOARDS
A. General Electric
B. Square D
C. Westinghouse
D. No other manufacturers shall be acceptable.
2.02 LIGHTING PANELBOARDS
A. Lighting Panelboards: NEMA PB1; circuit breaker type.
B. Enclosure: NEMA PB 1; Type 1 indoors.
C. Provide surface cabinet front, as indicated on Drawings, with concealed trim clamps, concealed hinge and flush lock all keyed alike. Finish in manufacturer's standard gray enamel.
D. Provide panelboards with tin plated copper bus, ratings as scheduled on Drawings. Provide copper ground bus in all panelboards.
E. Minimum Integrated Short Circuit Rating: As shown on Drawings.
F. Molded Case Circuit Breakers: NEMA AB 1; *bolt-on type thermal magnetic trip circuit breakers, with common trip handle for all poles. Multiple handles with a mechanical connection between them shall not be acceptable. Provide circuit breakers UL listed as Type SWD for lighting circuits. Provide UL Class A ground fault interrupter, HACR, and shunt-trip circuit breakers where scheduled on Drawings.
G. Provide UL listed lock-on devices for circuit breakers which serve battery powered egress lighting and for circuit breakers which serve night lighting circuits.
H. Provide a second ground bus, sized the same as the first ground bus, isolated from the panelboard can where indicated on drawings to provide an isolated ground system. Isolated ground systems shall be bonded to the main service ground only where indicated on the drawings.
I. Twin breakers in a one pole space (tandem breakers) shall not be acceptable.
2.03 POWER PANELBOARDS
A. Panelboards: NEMA PB 1; circuit breaker type. Nema 1 enclosures indoors.
B. Provide panelboards with tin plated copper bus, ratings as scheduled on Drawings. Provide copper ground bus in all panelboards.
C. Minimum Integrated Short Circuit Rating: As shown on Drawings.
E. Do not install any panelboard with the top of the highest switch or circuit breaker handle above 6'-6".
2.04 Provide a 100% neutral bus in all panelboards unless specifically indicated otherwise on Drawings.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
04 INSTALLATION
A. Install panelboards plumb in conformance with NEMA PB 1.1. Provide all structural shapes necessary for panelboard mountings.
B. Height: 6 ft 6 inches to top of trim.
C. Install panelboards so that working clearances required by NEC Article 110 are maintained from floor to structural ceiling.
D. Provide panelboard manufacturer supplied filler plates for unused spaces in panelboards.
E. Provide a typed circuit directory inserted behind a clear plastic cover for each panelboard with a door. Revise directory to reflect circuiting changes required to balance phase loads. Directory shall reflect Owner's names for spaces, not Architectural drawing names. Directory shall indicate both the type load and the space names.
05 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A. Field inspection and testing shall be in accordance with applicable Sections of Division 1.
B. Measure steady state load currents at each panelboard feeder with all single phase loads energized. Should the difference at any panelboard between phases exceed 10 percent, rearrange circuits in the panelboard to balance the phase loads within 10 percent. Take care to maintain proper phasing for multi-wire branch circuits. Maintain proper color coding of circuits are revised. Taping will be acceptable for this in lieu of repulling correctly colored wire.
C. Visual and Mechanical Inspection: Inspect for physical damage, proper alignment, proper overcurrent protective device ratings, mechanical operation of disconnecting means, anchorage, and grounding. Check proper installation and tightness of all connections.
D. Measure resistance of each bus phase to phase and phase to ground for one minute each. Test voltage shall be 1000 volts. Minimum acceptable insulation resistance shall be 2 megohms. Submit written report of test to Architect indicating how the test was performed and the results obtained.
E. Measure resistance between ground bus and panelboard enclosure. Maximum resistance shall be 0.01 ohms. Submit written report of test to Architect indicating how the test was performed and the results obtained.

Rembco Geotechnical Contractors specializes in slope stabilization, foundation repair and support, shoring, grouting, soil nails, micropile installations, and sinkholes. We are experienced in these applications: micro piles, sinkhole repair, permeation grouting, pressure grouting, soil nails, chemical grouting, micropiles, compaction grout, rock anchors and compaction piles. Our specialties are rock anchor, chemical and compaction grouting, mini piles, sinkhole repair, micropiles, and soil nailing. We use a problem-solving approach in the geotechnical portions of buildings, bridges, water plants, sewage plants, tunnels, sinkholes, caisson, and roads. Rembco techniques apply when adding new real estate structures: especially rock anchor, microfine grouting, soil nailing, micropile installations for foundation support.
