Institute for Geotechnology – University of Tennessee
The IG is a university – industry organization dedicated to common goals within the community and to projects which cannot be accomplished within individual firms or organizations. It affords a technology transfer function through joint research and development projects between the university and members.

CIGMAT – The Center for Innovative Grouting Materials and Technology
The Center for Innovative Grouting Materials and Technology (CIGMAT) is located at the University of Houston. It is a joint industry – university consortium organized to foster an improved understanding of grouts and their application. It carries out basic and applied research programs to improve current grouting technology. A substantial on-going program provides material testing for geotechnical applications.

ADSC – The International Association of Foundation Drilling
An association of foundation and caisson drilling contractors and affiliates. It’s programs are directed to establishing industry standards and guidelines. It also focuses on quality control, worker safety and liaison with governmental agencies. It provides several publications and carries out joint programs with related geotechnical organizations.

ASCE – The American Society of Civil Engineers
Organization open to all in the civil engineering field. It holds many geotechnical meetings whose proceedings are usually published and it publishes the monthly magazine “Civil Engineering”. The publications provide a large literature resource in the geotechnical field.

The GeoInstitute
Umbrella organization sponsored by the ASCE. It is a technical membership organization open to anyone having a high interest in the geotechnical sciences, whether a member of ASCE or not. It sponsors specialty conferences and publishes their proceedings. Among it’s many regularly meeting committees are the Grouting Committee, the Ground Improvement Committee, and the Rock Mechanics Committee.

Geotechnical Directory
Academic and industrial research laboratories, service providers (test labs, consultants, contractors), forthcoming conferences, design standards (American and European countries) and books relating to geotechnical engineering.
