Featured Sites and Services

The select jobs sites highlighted below are some of the foundation support, soil stabilization and specialty grouting jobs we have done recently. We hope they will give insight and a better understanding of the scope and diversity of Rembco’s geotechnical services.

Austin Peay University, Clarksville, TN

Constructed a deep foundation system for The Governor′s new football stadium. The owner′s original plan consisted of 185 5.5″ diameter micropiles. Rembco re-engineered the job and drew-up a plan that consisted of 120 micropiles of various diameter. This more sophisticated design reduced costs and shortened the construction time.

Dale Hollow Dam, Celina, TN

Performed exploratory grouting for the USACOE including site preparation and environmental control, drilling and logging of work, optical televiewer survey, water pressure testing and grouting with electronic data acquisition.

Cheoah Dam, Robbinsville, NC

Without as-built drawings, improved the bearing capacity of an 80 year old retaining wall by void-fill grouting the riprap and gravel material behind the wall and installing rock anchors in the face of the wall.

Cheoah Dam, Robbinsville, NC

Installed 185 micropiles to provide deep foundation system for footprint of a new facility that is hardened against extreme natural disaster.

Cherokee Farms, Knoxville, TN

Performed extensive sinkhole remediation with cap grouting, compaction grouting and void fill grouting in preparation for construction of an agricultural research facility.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA

Installed and tested 300 micropiles providing deep foundation system for additional stadium seating for the JMU football stadium. Also performed water stop grouting.

Jack Daniels Mash House, Lynchburg, TN

Excavated hillside from the top down in 5’ increments and built a 48’ slope stabilization system to make room for a new facility. Installed rock and soil anchors and finished with shotcrete to create a permanent retaining wall. Constructed a reaction beam at the wall base. Taste tested the local product.

J.C. Penney, Bessemer, AL

Performed emergency specialty grouting services for sinkhole remediation and soil improvement below an existing structure. Emergency service call received and initial on-site consultation on Wednesday…crew on the jobsite Thursday.

Wind Farm, Nevis, West Indies

Installed tie-down anchors to allow erection of 10 windmills. Part of a multi-national effort to enhance this island nation’s electrical grid.

Fort MacKay, Alberta, Canada

Mobilized to international jobsite and performed chemical grouting to eliminate groundwater infiltration to a pump station wet well.

United Airlines Wide Body Hanger, Dulles, VA

Installed and tested forty 150 kip rock anchors, and twenty-two 50 kip rock anchors to provide foundation system for a new hanger.

Wilson Dam, Muscle Shoals, AL

A compact drill rig was lifted by crane and placed on the dam. Six holes were drilled through 75 feet of the dam and 20 feet further into the bedrock below to provide access for instrumentation to be installed.

Fort Carson, CO

Performed a preliminary geotechnical survey, then designed and built a system of soil anchors and reaction blocks to mitigate and active landslide.

Nucor Steel Plant, Tuscaloosa, AL

Worked from a barge to drill through rubble (steel, wood, rock) while water levels fluctuated continually. Installed high capacity rock anchors to tie-back a reconstructed dock.

Regional Power Plant, Gaffney, SC

Performed precision compaction grouting to lift and stabilize a 600’ chimney at a coal fired power plant.

Providence Medical Center, Anchorage, Alaska

Designed and built a custom, temporary shoring and stabilization system using a combination of permeation grouting and soil nailing.
